Yoku Ono Ramen @ Prahran

Yoko Ono Ramen with Pork Belly - $ 17
The meat was soft and tender while the ramen was average. The chicken broth is okay but I personally prefer thicker consistency and stronger flavour.

The feature.
I quite like the ambience here. It feels nice and cozy during winter.

Cool place to visit but I do have mixed feelings about the ramen.
It was quite pricey and I always tend to prefer pork broth over chicken broth (personal preference).

The Burger Block @ Kew

Hi there! How has everyone been?

I was invited to visit The Burger Block which located at Kew. When I first heard of Asian Fusion burgers, no doubt that I was going to try it out!

We had a car on that day, so it was an easy drive to the cafe without any hassle. No issue for the car park as we found plenty of car spaces opposite the cafe. Alternatively, there is bus route 302 towards Box Hill and walk within 5 minutes.

I was glad that we went there around 11.30am before the peak hours. By the time we finished our meal, it was getting packed! A pleasure that we managed to meet Brenda, the owner / chef of the cafe and she gave us a brief introduction of The Burger Block. Such a young lady who has strong drive and passion!

Chocko Burger ( $ 12.90 )
american cheese, bacon, spanish onions, lettuce, tomato + BB's secret fusion sauce.

I wonder what's the secret sauce? Because it does taste so good and it completes the whole asian fusion burger.

The Hot Chick ( $13 )
hot Bulgogi sauce, american cheese, spanish, onions, lettuce, tomato and chilli sauce

I was concerned with three levels of spicyness at first. It turned out not too spicy and the flavours are well balanced with sauce. Chicken was well marinated.

Large Beer Battered Chips with aioli furikake (roasted seaweed seasoning) - $10.50

If I manage to find a similar chips with same seasoning somewhere near where I work, I'd probably will not hesitate to have it once a week. It was refreshing to have a twist of japanese sauce for the chips.

Meals completed with regular chocolate milkshake ($5)

Overall, we had no regret of travelling to here and left with satisfied brunch. Ain't too early have burger in the morning either. Worth trying it!

Wicked Chocolate Festival @ Prahran Market

After burning calories from Pilate Class in the early morning, I went to check out Prahran Market's Wicked Chocolate on Saturday May 7th. It was worth it especially getting all the free samples from different stalls - Bibelot, Burch & Purchese, Pana Chocolate, Sweet Greek and more !

I reckon Sweet Greek Shop is one of the best decor stalls on that day!

Variety of freshly baked goods can be found at Noisette.

Great sample testing at Pana Chocolate and I'm sold.
Walked away with four flavous of chocolate which free from dairy, gluten and sugar.

I'm really spoiled for #wickedchocolate festival!

First time having Doughboy's doughnut and I'm loving it after the first bite.
I picked "Peanut Buster" filled with chocolate.

All gooey chocolate sauce.. Yummmms.

Attempted to bake a lemon cake at late night but it didn't turn out that great. Oh well, I will try harder on next time.

Oscar Cooper @ Prahran

Hola! It's coming to the end of MAY already?!! Where's the time gone? I probably have repeated this thousand times. Anyway, friend and I had brunch at Oscar Cooper after I came back from a trip in Kuala Lumpur. Great comeback for brunch after a month of having malaysian food.

Visited date : 19th March 2016

Have anyone tried their Jaffles before? What would you recommend?
Please feel free to leave your recommendation in the comment section below. :)

Freshly made juices - a great start before the meals.

Purple Sunrise ($6) : carrot, celery, beetroot, orange and ginger.
Brunswick St Special ($6) : kale, apple, cucumber, mint.

If you prefer adding vodka, feel free to do so.
Jungle Juice ($11)

Twice cooked French Toast with almond and cherries.

I'll definitely need to revisit this cafe with DC. He is constantly looking for a great french toast!

Baked Eggs with chorizo.

It was great but I am more keen to try different dishes for next visit.

We arrived around 1pm and the waiting period was about 20 minutes which is reasonable. It's rare to find the price of fresh pressed juices cost $6 (which equivalent to Iced Chocolate/Coffee) and most of the dishes are below $20.

A must cafe to go when you are at Prahran/South Yarra/Windsor.

Hillarys Boat Harbour + Kings Park, Perth

Continue from previous post here.

Hillarys Boat Harbour is a nice to visit, especially is the home to elite Hillarys Yatch Club and The Aquarium of Western Australia. Car will be a better option to travel but it can be reached by public transport from Perth CBD. It's a great place for family and kids to have fun at the water park, surrounded with accommodation. The best thing in Perth, they have consistent good weather, unlike Melbourne.

This is my 3rd time celebrating Christmas in Perth (I'm sure there is more to come...) but I never visited Kings Park! Definitely a place that you must visit when you are in Perth CBD. It offers great view of the whole city and Swan River. If wasn't the weather too hot for me, I would have stayed a little longer to film time lapse. Highly recommended to have picnic here too.
