29.07.2012 @ Marriners Lookout, Apollo Bay

Was away during this weekend for Volunteer Field Trip at Cape Otway. It was pretty fun and great to meet new people over there! The view from the lookout was amazing. Unfortunately, failed to took the photo of the scenery as I probably adjusted the wrong setting for camera. Still wondering what's the best option to capture different scene though.

If it wasn't student concession, I wouldn't consider going to Circus Oz. It absolutely pricey for the show and I would rather save up and go to musical show! A word of "Circus" being mentioned, we thought of ANIMALS performance! Before the ticket booth is opened, I mentioned that : "I smelled some animals here." Embarrassed enough, there is not even one animal performed on the stage. Is 100% human performance. Ops! My friend keep blaming me after show and said "where the hell of animal smell you got?" Oh well, maybe there is animal surrounding, just not at the circus. As we have seen a better circus, comparing to this, it was literally not up to our expectation. I'd say that the pole dancing was the best performance of the night. It was amazingly good. Probably kids will love the show overall. .

Something bright for the day

Photobucket Photobucket

Colours that I do not expect to have it in my wardrobe. Oh well, this is current trend of colours and I'd like to try something new! Plus, first time tied a small ponytail for outing. =)
And Of course, the vintage backpack that I bought at Camberwell Market. The seller told me that this backpack can be last for 200 years! We shall see by then.

Mook Ji Bar Pt.2

I visited this restaurant again. This is the only korean restaurant that keep me coming back for their spicy rice cakes and fried chicken. I wrote a post about it and you can find it here. But this time, we came with group of 4 and I could try more dishes! Trust me, you need to try this authentic korean food. I recommended this to a lot of friends of mine and non of them not coming back for their food !

Winter Festival 2012 - Ice Skating for the FIRST TIME

Photobucket

Though it was pretty last minute receiving the free single pass + drink card (worth $49!) at St Kilda Sea Baths, I'm still grateful and thank you Nuffnang for giving away free passes! Frankly, this is my first time ever ice skating in my life! No joke.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

I was amazed that all the kids could learn how to skate just in few hours! Oh well, since I got the only one free pass, I actually learning it by myself! My brother gave some guidance, somehow, it doesn't help much as he isn't really good at it. Two little boys were helpful as they were trying to explain how should I skate. End up, I think they gave up on me as I still couldn't figure out the proper way of how to skate. Haha! I would say that skating is much more tiring than hiking! Not if I got my way knowing how to skate.

As you can see, I was in between two kids! I feel like a baby is trying to learn how to walk!

Miss Marples TeaRoom - Christmas In July

Finally, I could just say that I've been to Miss Marples Tea Room after three years being in Melbourne! Just right after we visited Sky High, we went to Miss Marples. So, currently is winter season in Melbourne and they are having special going on - Christmas in July.

I just love the decor !

Finger food - Sheed Turkey Breast with Cheddar and Cranberry Sauce. Drinks - Teapot of Taylors and it's voted "best cup of tea in England" by the British Tea Council. Sorry, I gotta doubt it.

Main Course - Open Sandwich : Miss Marple's super slimming smoked Atlantic Salmon with salad served on a slice of sourdough. I really love this dish as salmon is always my favourite thing.

No way that we could missed out the scones as this is the main reason why we came to visit Mount Dandenong! Everyone have been keep talking about how good the scones over here! Definitely have to order Devonshire Scone - One Fruit and One plain scones. It's quite different compared to what I ate scone for the first time being here. I thought scone is gotta be a little bit of hard, have to put into microwave to heat it up and soften it. That's what I remembered. Somehow, Miss Marple's scone to me is more like a sponge cake. Soft yet good. It served its own delicious home-made jam and lashings of freshly whipped cream.

The last chapter of the menu - We ordered the Sundae. It looks huge! But oh well, it seems like 3-4 scoops of vanilla ice cream and covered with whipped creams.

Sky High - Mount Dandenong

It feels really good to spend a day without any plans ahead like where should I go, where should I eat after my brother left. He left in the early morning at 5.45am and I back for 3 hours sleep before meeting up with friends to Mount Dandenong. We took 737 Bus towards Croydon and the journey took about 1 and half hour travelled. Later on, we took bus at Croydon Station by taking 688 bus towards Upper Fentree Hill. If driving, probably takes about 45 minutes?

Not every bus would drive towards the Sky High. When we were walking up the hill, a bus driver is kind enough to stop and let us in. I guess it's our lucky day! Saved our energy from walking up the hill.

Giant Chair
"Igor the giant has lived in this region for hundred of years. Igor likes nothing better to sit at SkyHigh & enjoy the view, so we built him a chair. Feel free to enjoy it, but Igor happens along, it would be smart to offer him his chair back!"

The scene from the lookout point. Hey, I could spot the city with all the high rise buildings! Imagined how small a city can be from the top view.

The Australiana Tree was designed and sculpted by renowned artist Leigh (Roy) Conkie.

The Wishing Tree
The legend of the wishing tree began around 1900. According to that, local legend says if you wish hard enough and look through the magic circle your wish will come true! That explained what Andrina is doing right there. =)

Photobucket

Kelly did a short brief research about this place and apparently there is one tree house here. So we have been keep looking for the tree house and we couldn't find one. I asked a staff over there and he mentioned that there is no tree house but there is Percy Possum's House. Alright, probably we got the wrong information about tree house. Stunned a little while after we saw it. Way far from what I imagined tree house would look like.

We easily concluded this short trip at Mount Dandenong just by visiting the Sky High. From what I saw, seems like nothing much interesting about this place. Somehow, I was wrong! There is more places we could visit ! We met a kind bus driver and he keep telling us we should visit this and that. Obviously, we just keep shaking our head and said no, we never heard of these places before. I guess I'll be back to Mount dandenong on someday to check out the places that he mentioned to us!
