Supposed to take a photo with the birthday cake instead of the empty plate.
We couldn't resist to try the cheesecake once it served on the table. Woops!

New try of the day! - Lebanese Sweets and Pastries

Saw the lady was cutting this dessert and it attracted me. It sparked my curiosity and I asked : "What's the dessert?" The moment she spoke, I knew that I have asked the wrong question. She started explaining all the ingredients which I never heard any one of them before. Absolutely nothing absorb in my brain. Eventually, I tends to googled what's this dessert call.

"Kenefeh or spelled Knafeh, Kunafeh, Kunafah, is a traditional Arab cheese pastry soaked in sweet syrup thought to have originated from the city of Nablus, in Palestine." cited from Wiki.
Not a fan of this and my brother said it tastes like rotten egg! Come on, he never taste of any rotten eggs before. He just couldn't describe how weird it actually taste for him. Anyway, three of us included friend of mine, Andrina are not liking it as well.

Pastel De Chocho with Salad

Another place to hang out with friends and absolutely feel great with variety of food and live music. It's happening on Every Wednesday from 5pm till 10pm on the month of August only. Located at The Queen Victoria Market.  Though the scale of event may not large as comparing to Suzuki night market, but overall I enjoyed it. Not to forget check out the stalls like vintage clothing, art paintings and handmade jewellery. We went there about 6.30 and after we finished our meals, some food stalls started to pack up at 8 plus. Not even close to the 10pm yet!

The Hungry Bird @ Brunswick

I got it, figured out Brunswick and Fitzroy now. Last time, I was walking from Lygon Street towards Brunswick street and that was my first time being there. I was amazed with all the cafes and vintage shops over there. I instantly thought of Kelly should be loving this place as well and we back to this place again. But it seems different from what I went for the first time. Obviously, I mixed up the places. Brunswick is based on Sydney Road while Fitzroy based on Brunswick Street. Jeez! What cant be brunswick st on Brunswick? Ha!

Mexican Brunch at Hungry Birds Cafecito. It just newly opened !

Docked Wine Bar @ Docklands

Photobucket
Photobucket PhotobucketPhotobucket

Paella (mains) - Small seafood. Please Allow approximate 30 minutes to serve on table.

Photobucket

Tapas that we have ordered:

Photobucket

Albondigas de Cerdo (Pork Meatballs)

Photobucket

Queso (Cheese)

Photobucket

Vieras Rellenass (Stuffed Mussels)

Photobucket

Camarones al Ajillo (Garlic Prawns)

To be honest, I would not want to return to this restaurant anymore. The food and service was horrible. Maybe not. Just the garlic prawns is the most unpleasant dish! As if it's like frozen prawns that you could buy it from the supermarket. In addition, it did not make sense for a Spanish restaurant ran out of chorizo (spanish sausage) when we would like to order it. They also made a mistake with our orders when the restaurant wasn't that busy.

Despite with the unpleasant meals at Docked, we still had fun with chatting.

After getting "high" with all the jokes that we have talked about it, out of sudden, I mentioned that I am strong enough to carry my mum because she is shorter than me. So we did the testing and here's the proof ! But it didn't last long for more than 5 minutes? Just managed to take a photo as I was trying to tell my brother : "Hey faster take a photo, I couldn't stand it anymore!"

Night Owl

Photobucket

Oh dear, wonder why I still awake at this time and couldn't fall asleep.
Friend of mine was drunk and called me. While we were chatting, suddenly he told me something that I do not even realized that I am not the type of person who capable doing it. That question just hit me and blah, still awake. If you are looking this photo at midnight, hopefully you could stay awake with me! Just kidding. Hopefully it wont cause a nightmare to you. Night!

Lot 7 @ Flinders Lane

We were planning to dine in at Mamasita but it was full and they told us that we'll have to wait for 3 hours till 10pm. Unless there is table which finish earlier! Then friends of mine went to check out Cumulus and it was full again! Same thing that we gotta wait till 10pm. So, we just randomly walked along the street - Flinders Lane and we found out that Lot 7 seems offering the most reasonable price comparing the others.

 95 Flinders Lane.

The space was substantial and I would expect that this building was once a warehouse!

From Left to Right,

Top: Dinner special of the day -Slow Cooked Moroccan Style Lamb + Lentil Pie with chick peas, minuted yogurt + spicy harrissa.

Penne Ragu of Slow Braised Lamb Shoulder in red wine served with peas + Herbs.

Bottom: Pumpkin Risotto Butternut Pumpkin with caramelised onion, goat's cheese + sage butter

Beef Burger Lot 7  - black angus beef pattie, lettuce, tasty cheese, chutney + chips

All dishes were equally good ! Beef burger seems the popular dish as we observed quite a number of people were ordering it. The pie was really good with sauces and I just gotta love the pumpkin risotto. Goat cheese just gotta be on my list of favourite!

Photobucket

And Finally, I tried Panna Cotta for the very first time! I'm not sure how good Panna Cotta should be taste like. But this was pretty good.

The most interesting part of this dinner was meeting a Japanese backpacker - Taichi. He spent a month all the way from Brisbane towards Melbourne through hitch hiking. That gotta be my first time of hearing those interesting experiences from a real backpacker. He has his own tent and just slept anywhere no matter where he goes! I was like Wow, that's really cool. Imagined that how could I ever will do that in my life? How I wish that I have that courage to do something crazy at least once.

Last month, 21st June was my birthday. I'm grateful that my brother was here with me as his accompany just made my day. Not to forget my close friends' accompany too! We had a great dinner at Veludo located at Acland Street, St Kilda. I bought the coupon from Groupon and this is best deal I ever bought ! We could order any mains from the menu which is pretty awesome.

Lamb Rump, eggplant, olives, roast capsicum, capers, lemon, snow peas

Photobucket

Linguine, qld prawns, zucchini, lemon chilli, crayfish butter. This was the least impressive dish that we've ordered.

Photobucket Photobucket

Speaking of how we met as we have been talking about it, it's kind of unexpected that we hang out quite often and getting close with each other. We got to know each other through mutual friend and normally it's hard to stay contact as expected. It's pretty funny that the friend who introduced them to me and she left. Because of that, we got close to each. Overall, I'm lucky to meet them !

Photobucket Photobucket

Not any fancy celebration but simple dinner plus good environment is perfectly good. Just gotta love the best accompany on the special day is more than enough. Love you gals !
