Wattletree Cottage @ Warburton

Not long ago, I had a ski trip with a group of friends. We passed by this place named Warburton and it just reminded me that I've been here before! It was back in 2012 and that was for a hiking trip. We have stayed one night at Wattletree Cottage and it was a wonderful accommodation. Note, the photos was taken two years ago and it might have some new changes. =)

From the balcony, you can see the view of Mount Donna Buang. I would imagine when comes to winter, you can see the snow on the summit.

This place is recommended for a large family or friends. It feels like home, to be honest. The main living area was fantastic with cathedral ceilings, wood heater and large antique furnishings to accommodate more than 10 people.

The kitchen is really well equipped with electric oven and grill, microwave, toaster and kettle. They also provided sauces, tea and coffee! Everything is neat and clean.

Large windows to maximise the view.

My favourite spot of the house.

4-tile

Small sitting area with library, games and CD Player. Baby provisions such as porta cot and high chair are provided. It has so much space for relaxing and entertaining.

There are two bathrooms. One is wheelchair accessible and also includes laundry facilities. The washing machine came in handy when we finished our hiking.

Room-4

5 bedrooms and each bedroom contains a heater. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable.

I was particularly in love with this bedroom, especially in the morning. First thing when i woke up, I saw the view of the mountain. It was perfect.

6 in the morning, enjoyed seeing the view surrounded with mist. Feels really calm and relaxed. Wish I could have stayed for another night.

Operator 25 @ Melbourne CBD

Hello with new vlog! Not really a vlog as I didn't do the talking. I was supposed planning to take more videos of Melbourne Open House 2014. Unfortunately, we arrived in the city in the afternoon and it was too late to queue for the visit. Next year, I will be there early in the morning!

Pressed Lamb Shoulder and Belly
with Kipfler Potatoes, Broccolini, Roasted Vine Cherry Tomatoes and Rosemary Ju
$21
Crispy skin, ticked. Soft Lamb Shoulder, ticked. However, I find the whole dish was too oily for my likings and need something else to balance it.

Liking the wallpaper especially the clouds.

I wonder how the smoked chicken cooked. It taste so good just like bacon. Don't underestimate the looks of the portion! I feel full after finishing everything! It's definitely a delicate presentation and plate of full flavours.

Sticky Date Puddings

Enjoyed having the mint leaves to allow me finishing the whole plate of dessert by myself! It is a warm dessert and perfectly fit for winter season.

Vanilla Custard Sago, Rhubarb Compote, Raspberry Foam and Rose Meringue
$9

It's light and refreshing dessert especially after eating lamb shoulder. It does not taste too sweet. I think it's a perfect dessert to finish our meals.

After trying their food for the first time, I have returned for second round.
On weekday, it has really nice atmosphere and I spent my time here for reading.
This has to be one of my current favourite cafes in the city. Operator 25 is conveniently located on the Melbourne CBD within minutes of the leafy Flagstaff Gardens. It has solved my problem in finding good brunch in Melbourne CBD! Also, as I have been there for twice in two weeks, they actually have different special menu of the day. I thought of coming back for Chestnut Tart but i couldn't see it on the menu when I returned on next day.

Update

Morning everybody! Oh wait, now it's 2am and I still awake.
Just finished editing the new layout and hope everyone enjoying this simplicity of design. I can't wait to update more things in this space now!

Haven't been feeling that good since last month. Somehow, I picked myself up and keep moving forward despite all the troubles and difficulty that I went through. I believe that my determination and perseverance will somehow get me there.

Current favourite song: Honne - Warm on a Cold Night.
