Petit Tresor Cafe Et Patisserie

How's everyone weekend been? Mine was alright. Had a great catch up with friends yesterday at the French restaurant for brunch. I will blog about it soon or later, but first of all, maybe have a try to this  modern French and Australian cafe?

I stumbled across this new cafe when I saw a selection of sandwiches and pies were on the shelf. Hoping to try them out but I was too late for lunch hour.

Ultime ($6.90)
Flourless chocolate sponge with hazelnut crunch praline, caramel insert and milk chocolate mousse
and Lychee Macaron ($2.70)

Unfortunately, there are limited flavours for macarons.

It has rich chocolate flavour and nice crunchiness of hazelnut. If you are not a sweet tooth person, this might too much for you  A bit let down that I barely taste the sponge cake but that's okay, the texture of the mousse is quite smooth. For this portion, the pricing is very reasonable. It can be shared among two people too!

There are minimum $10 for Eftpos.

I'm keen on to try out the sandwich or pastry for next visit. Won't be long.

Huxtaburger is my ultimate favourite burger place to go for! I have lost count on how many times I've been there just for Huxtaburger. First visit was at Flinders Lane. It is hidden in the alley with blue lighting sign board. We just simply passed by without realising there is a burger shop.

Original Fries vs Chipotle Fries
Preference -> Original wins!

Huxtaburger ($9.50)
Beef, cheese, tomato, lettuce, ketchup

All the burgers come with mustard mayo & pickles.

Denise Burger ($10)
Beef, cheese, jalapeƱos, tomato, lettuce and ketchup

Personally, I prefer Huxtaburger instead of Denise.

Another branch at High Street, Prahran. More spaces and fit for groups compare to the Flinders branch.

Clair/Clair JNR ($12/$7)
Southern Fried Chicken, Slaw, Jalepeno, Mayo or Reg Mayo

Apologise for the blurness of the photo. I had a takeaway and thus, the burger didn't look well presentable after unwrapped it. Turned out that bun was soggy BUT! Duh, the fried chicken is crispy and flavoursome. Recommended to have it in the shop instead of takeaway.

Obviously, I would prefer this if comparing to McDonalds. However, the waiting time tend to be longer and the portion is pretty small. If you are really hungry, one may not enough.

Hectic on last October

Hello! I'm just back from a trip to Kuala Lumpur to visit my family and friends. It was good to be away from social media for two weeks and now I feel refresh. If you have followed my instagram or twitter, I had a busy month of last October and it was a huge change to me. I changed my job, decided to take a break from work, joined two nuffnang's events and a volunteer program.

Best part of taking a train.

Watched advanced screening of Gone Girl which organised by Nuffnang. The movie totally blew me away with unexpected ending. At first I was freaked out to watch this movie because it wasn't my type  - horror and violence genre. But I would rate this movie 8 out of 10!

Once was first musical show I ever watched in Melbourne. Previously, I blogged a review about this show and you can find the link here.

How could I never explore this beautiful Princess Theatre?!

Volunteered for Melbourne Fringe Festival 2014. To be honest, this is one of the most organised events that I've participated. I worked as a bartender and front officer. Despite I have to work till late night, the latest would be 1-2am, they provided free transport to ensure us arrived home safely. #thumbsup

As a volunteer, we were also given opportunity to watch any shows whenever there are seats available. I'm really appreciate how they value us and I wouldn't mind to volunteer again if there is a chance!

Show: This is not a love song

During the Melbourne Fringe Festival, I watched six shows in total. Out of these shows, my favourites are Tripped and This is the Love Song.

Attic Erractic Presents: Tripped
a parable story of racial prejudice viewed through a dark comedic lens

I Can Disappear
brings the body to the fore as the artist questions the very nature "self"

Miss Fletcher Sings the Blues
a well-meaning, but slightly unhinged music teacher treats an unwitting geography class to a surprise music lesson.

The Birdmann in Momentous Timing
an indie underground comic seeks audience for intimate theatrical relationship for one hour only.

Laura Davis: Pillow of Strength
one of the most raved about shows at Melbourne International Comedy Festival. She pushes into new ground in this darkly honest, constantly surprising and very funny show about love, loving and Oasis.

This Is Not a Love Song
A play about love, pain and The Horses. With a live sound track featuring great song written.

All information about the shows credited to Melbourne Fringe Festival

Free admission at Awards Night.

By comparing myself last five years ago, I wouldn't able to understand a thing for all these shows that I have watched. Today, I'm glad that I able to watch the show without any difficulty to understand the language.

Overall, busy month but productive. Was working for two jobs and volunteered after work till late night. No complaints. Just that I'm blessed to have the opportunities. #thankful

Oppa Kitchen @ Swanston St

Visited Date: 29 December 2014

I was hoping that someday there will a new korean restaurant open at Swanston St which is the convenience location. Whenever I crave for korean cuisines, I tend to walk quite a distance in order satisfy my craving. Glad to hear that Oppa Kitchen is in the city now! You may also find another shop name Mr Kitchen along the street too. Don't be confused with Oppa Kitchen or Mr Kitchen.

This is a place for simple korean lunch and limited meals available. Unlike other places that offer hot soup and variety of dishes which I prefer that way.

Nice atmosphere with bright interiors.

Beef Bulgogi Meal Bucket ($10)
on rice with vegetarian dressing, deep fried potato hash and Kimchi.

I found the kimchi was bland and lack of marinated taste while the salad was a bit dry. Preferable more dressing  on top of it. Portion and flavours of the beef was rather underwhelming but presentation wise scored. I'm not sure if I will return again but I don't mind give another try for other dishes.
